1984 - 2009
Splashdown was created by George Borwick with the first event taking place at Rother Valley Country Park in 1984. The event was an instant success under the expert guidance of it's co-ordinator Philip Barton. Over the next 25 years Phillip and his team ensured Splashdown remained Sheffield Scouts biggest and best water sports weekend. Philip retired as co-ordinator taking on the role of Honoury President after the 2009 event when Rich Oliver took over as Splashdown Event Organiser.
